UNDP in partnership with the Global Environment Facility is delivering the Facilitating Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Applications for Greenhouse Emission Reduction Project. This project aims to demonstrate the potential of renewable in PNG. It consists in the creation of a GIS database to automatically compute hydropower potential, quickly analyse the best site configuration, and get preliminary outcomes: installed capacity, mean annual discharge, gross head. Wind and Solar potential are also included.
